Seth Voorhees is a multimedia journalist with nearly 30 years experience covering local news. Seth joined NBC 5 in September of 2017, covering Denton County.

Seth is a 10-time New York Emmy winner, recognized for his reporting, writing and photojournalism. His work has also been recognized by the National Press Photographers Association, New York AP Broadcasters Association and RTDNA, which honored Seth for a series on the drug epidemic in rural towns. In 2018, Seth was nominated for two Lone Star Emmy awards, in the Video Journalist category.

Seth is proud of his involvement in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and American Cancer Society.

Seth began his journalism career in radio. He comes to Dallas from Rochester, New York, where he covered everything from crime to features to weather, including a storm which dumped seven feet of snow on Buffalo in 2015. He did not bring his snow shovel to Dallas.

Despite growing up in Upstate New York, Seth is a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, golf, live music, BBQ and spending time with his wife and their three daughters.
