Sorry Ranger Fans, Prince Going to Tigers

Despite being courted by the Texas Rangers, the Washington Nationals and other teams, Prince Fielder will reportedly be in a Tigers uniform next season.

USA Today is reporting the first baseman has agreed to a nine-year, $214 million contract, which according to the report, is the fourth-largest deal in baseball history.

Now the Tigers are hurting just a little because designated hitter Victor Martinez is nursing a torn knee ligament, so it isn’t known if Fielder will play first base or DH.

Fielder met with the Rangers on Jan. 13 here in Dallas, but ended up signing with the Tigers. Reports suggest Fielder wanted more time and money than the Rangers may have offered.

Up until Tuesday's development, Fielder, has spent his whole career with the Milwaukee Brewers and at 27-years-old he has some good years left.

According to USA Today, the deal was first reported by Yahoo Sports.
