Shin-Soo Choo was so, so bad for the first month and a half of the season and had Rangers fans everywhere wondering what the team had done by giving the veteran a $140 million deal prior to last season.

Choo had a good stretch in late May and early June before falling off the wagon again and being relegated to platoon status by the all-star break.

That's when he flipped a proverbial switch, and since the break, Choo has been the Rangers' MVP and been at the forefront of leading them to first place in the AL West with two weeks to play — one of the game's biggest surprises this year.

How's Choo doing it? Well, he's hitting the baseball again. He's going the other way, and he's scoring runs as he's entrenched himself back into the No. 2 spot in the Rangers' order.

In fact, there's a pretty telling stat about Choo and how much he's meant to the Rangers over the last two months. In games in which Choo scores a run, the Rangers are 46-13. Looking even deeper, the Rangers are 24-5 when Choo scores a run since the all-star break.

It's pretty simple, and give Choo a ton of credit for being such a big spark plug for the Rangers when they appeared to be dead in the water.
