Tom Brokaw's British Columbia Ranch Hits the Market

Journalist Tom Brokaw is hoping that someone from "The Greatest Generation", or at the very least, a fly fishing enthusiast will pony up the $1.792 million for his British Columbia ranch. According to The Wall Street Journal, Brokaw is a co-owner of the available fishing compound aka Hat Rack ranch, which is located on 275 acres in rural Canada.

Brokaw's fishing retreat features dense wilderness with half a mile of frontage on the Bulkley River, considered to be one of the preeminent steelhead fisheries in the world, according to the public listing.

The former host of NBC's "The Today Show," "NBC Nightly News," and "Meet the Press," bought Hat Rack ranch with two of his fishing buddies. All three decided to sell because they no longer use the fishing haven as much as they used to.

Not only does the property boast some sweet fly fishing spots, but it also includes a 3,600-square-foot main house, caretaker's residence, and a barn. The renovated main house is constructed of logs with a library, marble and stone fireplace, and an attached greenhouse and wine cellar. So while the location is certainly isolated and rural, there's nothing primitive about Brokaw's fishing ranch at all.
