You Betcha Week 12: Romo Upsets Cam

I long ago burned out on Fantasy Football. I can’t wrap my little brain around the FanDuelDraftKings craze. And I’ve wasted lots of time and a little money on not finishing first in those Eliminator Pools. But, alas, like of fans, I do like to have a little extra interest in Cowboys games. So let’s do this: I just robbed an imaginary bank and pocketed a virtual $1,000. What better way to spend it than on some mythical wagering.

I’ll start with my $1k bankroll and each week – usually on Thursday or Friday – I’ll analyze the upcoming Cowboys game and make a wager. With any luck, by Christmas it’ll be iPhone upgrades for everyone.

Do I think we’ll win? You betcha!

Nailed Tony Romo’s return and the Cowboys beat the Dolphins last week. So now what do I do in the midst of my first winning streak of the season and a profit of $210?

Get a little crazy, that’s what.

Can’t remember if I’ve ever wagered on a 3-7 team to beat a 10-0 team, but that’s what I’m doing on Thanksgiving.

I realize the Panthers are undefeated and are led by a stingy defense and MVP candidate Cam Newton at quarterback, but I just don’t fear Carolina. Irrational? Maybe, yeah. But when in doubt I tend to side with the more desperate team.

Who will be more hungry for a win on Thursday? A Panthers team that has a four-game lead in its division and has already all but wrapped up home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs? Or a Cowboys team that trails the Giants by two games in the NFC East?

Romo should be even better in his second game back. Each week Dez Bryant should get a little more healthy. In Miami the Cowboys rediscovered their winning formula from 2014. And, oh by the way, you don’t think Greg Hardy will make an impact against the team that cut him?

Pass the turkey, and the insanity.

Cowboys 27, Panthers 24.

STARTING BANKROLL: $1,000
CURRENT BANKROLL: $1,210
SEASON RECORD: 6-5
LAST WEEK: 1-0, +$300
THIS WEEK: Cowboys plus+1 over Panthers, for $200
