Spencer, Crawford Have Surgery

Anthony Spencer is dealing with a bone bruise, while Tyrone Crawford is done for the year with a torn Achilles

A pair of Cowboys defensive linemen, Anthony Spencer and Tyrone Crawford, underwent successful surgical procedures on Thursday, according to ESPN Dallas.

Spencer had his knee scoped after an MRI last week revealed a bone bruise, an injury that bothered Spencer throughout this offseason. He’s expected to return in time for a bit of preseason action, but will miss the rest of training camp.

Crawford isn’t so lucky. He suffered a torn Achilles in the first practice of camp, and will miss the remainder of the season. Successful surgery under his belt, though, the Cowboys expect him to make a full recovery, as did safety Barry Church, who suffered the same injury last season.
