Dallas Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith helped two fans spend a little cash on Sunday, including Dana  Thomas.

Thomas was one of two people who won a $5,000 shopping spree at Academy Sports and Outdoors. "To meet Emmitt, that is awesome too," said Thomas. "He was a joy to be around, pure joy."

Now, not only did the winners get to spend the cash and shop privately in the store before it  opened. But Smith also accompanied them during the shopping excursion.

"It's so much fun getting to do all of this," said Thomas. "And we are anxious to have the truck
delivered with everything and come to our home. I'm sure everyone will be standing around

"She (Dana) didn't spend a lot of time thinking about herself," said Smith. "And that is a very
unique trait, that is a motherly trait."

Thomas used the money to buy Christmas gifts for her family and friends. The only thing she got
for herself, a skillet she said she will use to make cornbread.

"Here, you are talking about a woman who has won $5,000 and she is thinking about her husband, she is thinking about her grandkids, thinking about her kids and her in-laws and so that's nice," said Smith.
