Cornerback Orlando Scandrick has been around long enough to know that when he and the Giants’ Victor Cruz line up against each other--as they will on Sunday--it’s going to be a battle.
“You guys know I’m always out to prove something, so any time I have a chance to play against a guy of that caliber, a Pro Bowler like that, I relish those moments,” Scandrick said, per the team’s official website. “But at the same time, I know it’s going to be a challenge and I’m embracing it. I’m going to be ready to play.”
Through all the mutual enmity of the rivalry, there’s clearly a mutual respect between Scandrick and Cruz.
“Our battles have been pretty good,” Cruz said. “I think we’ve gone back and forth a couple times, but he’s a good player. He’s quick, he’s fast, he’s pretty smart. When he reads something, he attacks it pretty quickly. It’s definitely going to be another classic battle once again. I’m excited for it.”
