At Monday's Cowboys practice a fan was near standing near me yelling for Michael Irvin to come over and sign his jersey.

It was the No. 47 jersey from the University of Miami. Irvin played for Jimmy Johnson and was apart of the 1987 national title team.

Irvin never came over, but his Cowboys teammate Jay Novacek put the jersey on and ran routes in it as Irvin was doing interviews with the DFW media.

Novacek also got Irvin to autograph it.

In addition to being the Sports Director for NBC 5 and appearing on NBC 5 News at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., Newy Scruggs can be heard Monday through Friday on NBC Sports Radio. Listen online or through the NBC Sports Radio smartphone app on iOS or Android.
