More Bad News: Kosier Out 2-3 Weeks With Achilles Injury

Continuing on the theme of metaphorical gut-punches to the Dallas Cowboys and their fans in 2010, Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News has been reported that Cowboys’ starting left guard Kyle Kosier will miss the next 2-3 weeks with a strained right Achilles tendon suffered in Sunday 24-21 loss to the Vikings in Minnesota.

Montrae Holland, who replaced Kosier Sunday, will start in his absence in the coming weeks. Kosier missed the season opener with a knee injury and most of 2008, with foot and hamstring issues.

Holland, the team’s swing guard, replaced Leonard Davis on the right side in week five’s loss to the Titans, and performed well. With Kosier out and Holland starting, center Andre Gurode will serve as the backup guard.

Rookie Phil Costa is the team’s backup center.
