Dez's Diamond Earring, Lost & Found

With just three exceptions, rookie receiver Dez Bryant held on to everything in Sunday’s 33-20 victory over the New York Giants.

The first of these exceptions was a forgettable incomplete pass; the second was an incomplete pass that directly resulted in the third, and most potentially expensive exception--the temporary loss of Bryant’s diamond stud earring.

In the fourth quarter, Bryant laid out to make an impressive 48-yard catch, and hit hard on the turf of the New Meadowlands. Replays showed that Bryant was out of bounds by the time he gained possession of the ball, however; and later, the rookie discovered that the ball wasn’t the only thing jarred loose by the considerable impact: he had also lost his earring, the sort of which are worth up to $50,000.

"I really was a little worried," Bryant said afterward, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. And understandably so. But fortunately for Bryant, a security guard at the New Meadowlands found the earring and returned it to him in the locker room. Bryant said that he gave the man “a big thank you.”
