Report: Cowboys Will Wait Until June To Sign Draft Picks

About $6 million in cap space will be freed up on June 1

The Dallas Cowboys will hold off on signing any of their seven draft picks until next month, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Citing a source close to the situation, the report in the Star-Telegram says that Dallas doesn’t want to put anything in ink until after June 1--when $6 million of cap space from departed CB Terence Newman’s deal becomes available.

The source also said that Dallas has enough cap space, about $2.14 million right now, to get deals done with all their draft picks save first round selection Morris Claiborne. The Cowboys' rookie pool for the seven players drafted is just over $5.7 million.
