Chaz Green “Honored” to Join O-Line Group

Green was drafted in the third round out of Florida last month

The Dallas Cowboys’ third round pick Chaz Green will very likely spend his first season in the NFL as the team’s swing tackle, taking over the spot Jermey Parnell left vacant when he agreed to a massive contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. And if he does win that spot--he’ll compete with Darrion Weems for the job--it won’t take long for the Florida product’s impact to be felt.

I think I can contribute early,” Green said, per the Dallas Morning News. “Obviously there’s a whole bunch of work to do. I’m just living in my playbook, trying to grind it out. That’ll separate the young guys if they can pick up on that playbook real quick.”

The selection of Green was effectively overshadowed by the signing of La’el Collins the next week, but he doesn’t mind.

“I’m honored that they feel like I can be an addition to that [group],” Green said. “As a young guy, I just want to put work in, day-in and day-out, just to improve my game to make sure I’m on the level with those guys. They’re definitely trying to build something special here.”
