Dallas Hope Charities

Dallas Hope Charities (DHC) has a mission to inspire a vibrant, inclusive and progressive volunteer force in the fight against homelessness and hunger. The organization serves all individuals no matter where they are on their journey, with the hope that their lives will forever be transformed. They are a people of inclusion, liberation and hope who feed the hungry, heal the hurting, and are mindful that it is up to us to give compassion toward all who are marginalized.

DHC is a collective group of people who volunteer their time and efforts, sharing their joy and unrelenting optimism, following a clear purpose: utilizing their gifts, skills and resources to transform the world. They provide a variety of programs to combat hunger and homelessness in the Dallas community. In 2018, these programs helped serve 35,700 meals, distributed 5,400 bags of groceries along with 1,100 ‘Blessing Bags’ and 422 Thanksgiving baskets, provided more than 132 nights of shelter, and had over 7,000 volunteer hours.

DHC has multiple programs that will create the best possible volunteer experience for yourself, your friends and your family. Such programs include the Dallas Hope Center, where they provide LGBT-focused, but not exclusive, safe shelter for up to one year for any young adults aged 18-24 in need. Other programs are Blessing Bags for the Homeless, a bag that contains snacks, socks, toiletries and other items that people who live on the street find useful, the Breakfast at Cathedral of Hope (BACH), where DHC volunteers serve hot cooked breakfast for those who are experiencing homelessness every Saturday morning, and many more programs to follow.
