NBC 5 and the Tarrant County Black Historical and Genealogical Society invite you to come out to the 10th Annual Tarrant County Harambee Festival on Friday and Saturday, October 4th and 5th. Bring your family and friends to Evans Avenue Plaza located at 1050 Evans Avenue in in the beautiful historic Terrell Heights community in Fort Worth.
The festival is a fundraiser for the Tarrant County Black Historical and Genealogical Society (TCBH&GS) whose mission is to locate, collect, analyze, organize and preserve African-American historical contributions used to educate, empower and interpret African-American history in Tarrant County. TCBH&GS has been an advocate for cultural conservation and house and preserve historical contribution at the Lenora Rolla Heritage Center Museum.
Harambee means “all come together” in Swahili and that’s just what you’ll want to do on Friday night and all day Saturday. There’s a Seafood Chicken and Blues Night on Friday. On Saturday, join NBC 5’s Evan Anderson at the Parade, then enjoy the Health and Wellness Fair, Anti-Bullying Rally, the Fort Worth ISD Mass Choir, and much, much more.
