DART took quite the figurative beating last year after it failed to get thousands — or was it millions? — of football fans to Fair Park in time for the 2009 Red River Shootout.

A few people probably wanted to administer literal beatings as well, but they were stuck on a train somewhere.

This year, though, DART schedulers swear they have it all figured out, and they’re taking to the Weird Wide Web to prove it. The site contains routes and schedules, transfers and ticket purchases, all designed to make the commute simple and mindless … kinda like yours truly here.

So, really, forget about last year. It was a fluke. Trust DART to deliver on time every time when it comes to attending the State Fair of one of the three football games scheduled during its run. This year will be much better, they promise.

Fool you once, shame on them. Fool you twice ….

Bruce Felps owns and operates East Dallas Times, an online community news outlet serving the White Rock Lake area. He had no problem at all with DART last year during Fair season. He didn’t take mass transit.
