The Four Seasons Market, featuring a wide variety of locally produced foods and crafts, gets under way Saturday, Nov. 7 at Firewheel Town Center in Garland.
The market, which will be held every Saturday year-round from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is the brainchild of Vincent Hirth and Florine Bowman—owners of Florine Bowman Pastries—and is modeled after successful festivals the couple ran in France some 12 years ago.
“Four Seasons Market will replicate a European-style market where you can not only meet local farmers, artisanal food producers and craftsmen, but sample and purchase their products in a colorful, family-friendly venue,” said Hirth.
Among the local farmers and specialty food producers who will be participating are: Sachse Heritage Farms, Lucky Layla, Sloan’s Creek Heritage Meats, Texas Honeybee Guild, Kitchen Pride Mushroom Farms, Stephanie’s Premium Bakery, The Tamale Company, Lucido’s Pasta and Herbs, Good Spice Specialty Foods, Romance for Two, Sharla’s Sweets, Susie’s Fudge, Ain’t No Mo! Butter Cakes, Chapman Chili Kitchen, Brisket Heaven and Waggin’ Tail Treats.
Also on hand will be local craftsmen including Anahata, Bella Rosa Jewelry Design; Furniture by Bee Gee, and Beaded Image along with the Green Baby Diaper Service.
“Firewheel with its new urbanism design and central park is the perfect setting for the first Four Seasons Market” Hirth noted, “We’re expecting more than 50 vendors for our first market and plan to double that over the next few months. We’re also planning to feature local musicians, special attractions for children such as a bounce house and petting zoo, and sidewalk cafés featuring coffee, pastries, wine, beer and soft drinks,” he added.
“This holiday season we are pleased to offer our loyal shoppers with a unique shopping experience at the Four Seasons Market,” said Melody Kamp, Director of Marketing & Business Development of Firewheel Town Center. “From fresh ingredients for holiday cuisines to one-of-a-kind craft finds, there is something for everyone."
