New Wu to Show at Nordstrom

Nordstrom presents Jason Wu's Fall 2010 Collection on Friday

Jason Wu’s star is rising fast.

In 2009, at the age of just 26, Wu stepped into the international spotlight as the designer of First Lady Michelle Obama’s stunning Inaugural Ball gown.  It was a moment preceded by years of study and accomplishment, and one many predict will be followed by a long and exciting career.

Named by Ken Downing in our DFW 2020 Fashion feature as one of the top designers to watch in the decade to come, Wu draws inspiration from the world of photography as well as his own travels and experiences.  A native of Taipei, Taiwan, Wu now calls New York homebase after moving to Vancouver as a boy, then studying in Tokyo and Paris in his teens.  The prestigious Parsons School of Design followed thereafter, as well as an internship with Narciso Rodriguez.

Now a favorite among celebrities and the press, Wu continues to captivate with each new season.  His Fall 2010 Collection promises “unexpected fabric pairings” and “diverse historical and cultural references”.  But you don’t have to take our word for it.
