Texas: Home of the Wacky Attractions

North Texas' Eiffel Tower dubbed one of the nation's wackiest attractions

The Eiffel Tower, a wacky attraction? Yep -- if you're in Paris, Texas.

TripAdvisor, an online travel site, has dubbed the 65-foot-tall North Texas attraction as one of the country's wackiest.

While the Paris Texas Eiffel Tower is dwarfed by the 1,063-foot structure in France, it also has something you'd only see in Texas: It's topped by a giant cowboy hat.

Texas is apparently the home of the wacky; it is the only state to appear more than once on TripAdvisor's top 10 list.

In addition to North Texas' very own Eiffel Tower (No. 6), TripAdvisor also singles out the Toilet Seat Museum in Alamo Heights (No. 1), the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo (No. 3) and Stonehenge II in Kerrville (No. 8).

"This list proves the U.S. boasts some truly bizarre attractions, and in a state where they do everything big, Texas even does weird big," said Christine Petersen, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor.
