AN IDOL FAVORITE IN TOWN: Ever since Carrie Underwood was crowned the winner on season four of American Idol, she has gone on to be one of the best-selling Idol artists since its debut. Underwood has a long list of awards as an entertainer from multiple Grammys to winning Entertainer of the Year from the Academy of Country Music three times; she’s no stranger to the spotlight. The Oklahoma native visits Dallas tonight at the American Airlines Center performing hits like “Cowboy Casanova” from her third album “Play On,” and some old favorites. The country concert starts at 7 p.m.

DANCING IN THE STREETS: A festival spanning six blocks in Downtown Fort Worth celebrating music and art, rightfully titled MusicArte de Fort Worth in Sundance Square (ahem, that NBC 5 just happens to be co-sponsoring, read more here) will feature the authentic food and  rhythmic beats of Latino culture.  Experience the passion while you learn tango and salsa down the street while you browse artwork all weekend long. The event benefits the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce scholarship fund. The party starts at noon on Saturday and Sunday and won’t end until 10:30 p.m., so put on your dancing shoes and bring your appetites for a weekend full of sabor (flavor).

TAP-DANCING GREAT: Savion Glover mastered at the art of tap at the wee age of 12 performing in “The Tap Dance Kid.” Since he first put on his dancing shoes, Glover has been captivating audiences with performances on Broadway and on movie screens (especially the 2000 Spike Lee film “Bamboozled”). On Sunday Glover now 36, takes on Dallas in his new show “Bare Soundz.” See the master of tap along with a talented crew of dancing protégés at the Myerson Symphony Center at 8 p.m.
