Brian Curtis is a journalist with more than 20 years of experience in local television news.  He co-anchors NBC 5 First at Four and NBC 5 News at 10 p.m. Monday through Friday.

He has been honored with four Lone Star Emmy Awards for anchoring, news writing, consumer reporting, and Olympics coverage.  He has also been named "Best News Anchor" by the Associated Press Broadcasters of Texas.
 
Among the major stories that Brian has covered for NBC 5 and the NBC network are the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece and the explosion of space shuttle Columbia over Texas in 2003.
 
Brian joined NBC 5 in 2003.  Prior to making North Texas home, Brian anchored and reported in Kansas City, Birmingham, Alabama, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Battle Creek, Michigan, and Columbia, Missouri.

Among the other professional organizations that have recognized Brian's work are the Press Club of Dallas, the Missouri Broadcasters Association, Kansas City Media Professionals and the Alabama Associated Press.
 
Brian has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University.  He is also a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall.
