Brian Curtis is a journalist with more than 20 years of experience in local television news. He co-anchors NBC 5 News at 10 and NBC 5 First at Four Monday through Friday.
Brian is a four-time Lone Star Emmy Award winner. He has twice been named "Best News Anchor" by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters, most recently in 2013.
Among the major stories that Brian has covered for NBC 5 and the NBC network are the Olympic Games in London, Beijing, Torino, and Athens. Just two weeks after his arrival at NBC5, he found himself covering the explosion of space shuttle Columbia over North Texas.
Brian joined NBC 5 as a general assignment reporter in 2003. Prior to making North Texas home, Brian anchored and reported in Kansas City, Birmingham, Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, and Columbia, Mo.
Brian has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University. He is also a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall. Brian grew up in Connecticut and Rhode Island, but got to North Texas as fast as he could. He says, "It was a long trip, but I made it!"
