Stars Activate Trevor Daley, Sergei Gonchar From Injured Reserve

The following is a news release from the Dallas Stars dated Jan. 6, 2014.

"Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that defensemen Trevor Daley and Sergei Gonchar have been activated from injured reserve.  
 
Daley has five points (1-4=5) and 24 penalty minutes in 27 games this season. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound forward has missed the last 14 games after suffering a lower body injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Dec. 5. Now in his 10th NHL season, all as a member of the Stars, the Toronto, Ont., native ranks fifth all-time among Dallas Stars defensemen (since 1993-94) with 173 points (43-130=173) and sixth with 648 games played. The 30-year-old was Dallas' second-round selection (43rd overall) in the 2002 NHL Draft.
 
Gonchar, 39, shares second among team defensemen with 12 points (0-12=12) in 35 games this season. The Chelyabinsk, Russia, native is in his 19th NHL season, and is the all-time Russian points leader among defensemen with 787 points (217-570=787) in 1,212 career NHL games. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound defenseman was originally selected as the 14th overall pick in the 1992 NHL Draft and was signed by Dallas on June 10, 2013. Gonchar has missed the last five games due to concussion-like symptoms."
