World Cup organizer Danny Jordaan says it's crucial that South African fans show enthusiasm for other teams if the home squad fails to advance to the second round.

The CEO of the local organizing committee, Jordaan called South Africa's 3-0 defeat to Uruguay on Wednesday a huge disappointment for the host nation's fans.

He said that after the game the vuvzelas were silent for the first time, referring to the plastic horns that have created a din at World Cup matches.
