Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton says he has no plans to participate in the Home Run Derby if he makes his third consecutive All-Star game next month.

In his only Home Run Derby two years ago at old Yankee Stadium, Hamilton put on an awe-inspiring display with a record 28 homers in the first round. Hamilton was an All-Star starter again last year, but passed on the derby after coming back from two stints on the disabled list.

Hamilton went into Texas' game Tuesday night against Pittsburgh with a career-best 16-game hitting streak. He was batting .337 with 16 homers and 52 RBIs this season.

In the AL All-Star fan voting totals released this week, Hamilton moved up to third among outfielders, passing teammate Nelson Cruz.
