NBC 5 Football Minute: Frisco Lone Star

A program that almost always seems to finish with double digit wins and coming off a trip to the regional semifinals, Frisco Lone Star is not holding back its hopes for 2019.

"I think it's the culture of our program," Lone Star head coach Jeff Rayburn said. "Our kids have bought into our coaches and our coaches are so bought in to our kids. The expectations are really high here, and our kids continue to strive to reach those, and they want a little bit more every single year."

If the Rangers are to achieve even more success in 2019, highly-touted wide receiver Marvin Mims will likely lead the way. Rayburn emphasized the little things in the offseason to try to accomplish big goals in the months ahead.

"A fourth-and-inches mentality," Rayburn said. "All that means for us and our kids, if the state championship was on the line, it's fourth-and-inches, how would we perform on that rep? How would we meet? How would we go to class? Everything has to have that fourth-and-inches for a state championship mentality for us to have the opportunity to even think about getting there."
