Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion left Tuesday night's game against the Lakers with a bruised right shoulder.

Marion fell hard to the floor just before halftime and was down in a heap under the Los Angeles basket while play continued until Jordan Hill's dunk.

The Mavericks said after halftime that Marion wouldn't return to the game. He had started after being questionable because of ankle and Achilles issues.

Marion fell to the floor after he got tangled up with Pau Gasol and tripped over teammate Dirk Nowitzki.

Trainers tended to Marion on the court before he got up and walked the locker room. He was pressing at his right shoulder area and grimacing in pain.
