Brahmas take sole possession of third place in Berry Conference

The Brahmas beat the Killer Bees 4-2 on Sunday to break the tie and take sole possession of third place in the Berry Conference.

The Brahmas were fueled by a two-goal performance from forward T.J. Fox, who beat Rio Grande Valley netminder Wylie Rogers twice in a two minute span of the second period. For Fox, the goals were his ninth and tenth of the season.

Phil Fox sealed the game with an empty-netter with 31 seconds left in the third period. Veteran defenseman Ross Rouleau scored the very important first goal of the game at the 14:09 mark of the first period.

The Brahmas are now 12-4-3 this season when scoring first.

Texas goaltender Steve Silverthorn stopped 17 of 19 shots fired by the Bees en route to his seventh victory of the season. Rogers made 23 saves on 26 shots for Rio Grande Valley.

After Sunday's win, the Brahmas now hold sole possession of third place in the Berry Conference with 39 points - two points ahead of the Bees.
