The Senate Monday voted to name its most famous hearing room after the late Kennedy trio of brothers, honoring the political greats with a permanent place in the center of American government.

The gilded caucus room in the Russell Senate Office Building will be rennamed the Kennedy Caucus Room under a resolution, which passed Monday with virtually no dissentors.

"This was Teddy's wish and desire," Sen. Christopher Dodd, a close friend of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, said after the resolution was passed.

The room will honor John, Robert and Edward Kennedy, the only three brothers to have served in the Senate.
