GOP Battle for Governor Hits TV Airwaves

Both Kay Bailey Hutchison and Rick Perry's campaign are ready to take to the airwaves.

Hutchison will go up on the air with 30 second spots starting Friday in select TV markets, a source said Thurday. The media buy, which is expected to be close to $100,000 in the Dallas market alone, will run through Thanksgiving.

The Hutchison campaign confirmed that the first ad will feature Hutchison talking directly to primary voters about her accomplishments as a senator.

Hutchison's campaign also said ads were bought in other media markets, and the TV campaign is expected to cover more than 90 percent of the state's primary voters.

Perry's spokesman also said he will hit the airwaves Friday.

A source said the governor also will air 30-second spots that will run through Thanksgiving.
