Blind and visually impaired children in Bakersfield, California, got a chance to participate in an Easter egg hunt this week, with a little help from the Bakersfield Police Department bomb squad.

The bomb squad equipped plastic eggs with beeping devices so the children could find them by following the sound.

More than 20 kids, ages 3 through 13, searched for the eggs Thursday, with officers serving as guides. Those who attended the event were also able to visit with bomb squad officers and sit in a patrol car, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

The eggs were traded in for candy, popcorn and snow cones, and every child left with an Easter basket.
