Investigation into attack under way

Students at Southern Methodist University are being warned about a sexual assault that was reported on campus Monday evening.

According to the school, a female student was sexually assaulted at about 9:10 p.m. near the north entrance of the Carr Collins Building in the Law Quad near the 3300-block of Daniel Street.

The woman described her attacker as white, wearing a dark-colored hoodie, dark jeans and dark-colored tennis shoes. She also said he had a deep, raspy voice.

The attack is under investigation by the SMU Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call 214-768-3388. Information also may be reported anonymously through the Silent Witness Program by calling 214-SMU-2TIP or online at http://www.smu.edu/2tip.
