The incident happened at about 7 a.m. at Founders Park in the 400 block of East Colorado Boulevard.

The victim was taken to Parkland Hospital and was reported in stable condition, Dallas police said.

"The armed suspect approached the victim on foot, grabbed her and forcefully pulled her into the park and sexually assaulted her," police said in a news release.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area. One officer was seen walking through the park Tuesday evening.
