A 15-year-old girl was jogging in the 2500 block of Gilbert Circle Wednesday at about 6:15 p.m. when she said two men approached her in a dark blue SUV.

Police said the teen reported the man who was driving the SUV exited the vehicle and told her to get inside, then tried to grab her while displaying a knife.

She escaped by running to a nearby apartment, and police said the vehicle may have continued eastbound onto Abram Street.

"Very concerning for us and our community," said Lt. Christopher Cook of the Arlington Police Department when asked about the nature of the crime. "So we definitely want to identify this person and get them off the street."

Police said an independent witness reported hearing the teen screaming but could not see the suspects or the suspects' vehicle.

The composite sketch was put together Friday when the victim sat down with a professional artist and described the man who grabbed her.

The man driving the SUV was described as a 40-year-old Hispanic male, approximately five-feet, nine-inches tall and 140 pounds, with short dark hair.

After the incident on Wednesday, a neighbor who lives near Arlington's Wessler Park – a short walk from the scene of the crime – contacted police to say they believed a man matching the suspect's description had been lurking in the area of the park.

The dark blue SUV believed to be involved had a license plate with the first three characters possibly reading "CW8," according to the teen.

But since the incident was first reported police have been unable to find a possible match between those characters and a blue SUV, police said Friday.

Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to call Arlington police Detective Caleb Blank at 817-459-5735, or place an anonymous tip by calling Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477).
