Grab your bag Southwest Airlines' having a sale!
Southwest Airlines is offering a 72-hour sale that features one-way plane tickets as low as $25.
The special ends Thursday night and is good for travel between Dec. 2 to Dec. 16 and Jan. 5 to Feb. 10.
The pricing is based on distance and the $25 one-way fares are for flights up to 375 miles one way. --That is what it may cost you to just fly your luggage on other airlines.
The demand for tickets temporarily crashed Southwest Airline's online booking system Tuesday afternoon.
"Internally we're calling this the wow sale," said Southwest Airlines spokesman Brad Hawkins. "We operate more than 3,200 flights a day across the country so having an airplane go out full is better than having it with half the seats full."
American Airlines confirmed Tuesday afternoon that it will match Southwest Airlines fare prices during this sale period for domestic flights.
