Police have not revealed a motive in the shooting

Royse City Investigating Murder-Suicide Attempt

Police in Royse City are investigating an attempted murder-suicide.

According to police, officers were called to a home on the 400 block of Cookston Lane at about 9 a.m. Friday when someone called 911 and reported hearing multiple gunshots.  The caller also said there were two people injured.

When officers arrived, the found a man deceased from an apparent gunshot wound and a woman who had been shot several times.

The woman survived the shooting and was transported by Rockwall EMS to a Dallas hospital.  Her current condition is not known.

The man and woman were later identified as 39-year-old Scott Arthur Croop and his wife, 33-year-old Kara Elizabeth Croop.

At this time police have not revealed a motive for the shooting.
