Retail Gas Prices Increase

Retail gasoline prices in Texas and nationwide have gone up 3 cents this week.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price at the pump statewide reached $3.26 per gallon. Drivers across the U.S. are paying an average $3.50 per gallon.

The association survey found that the Dallas-Fort Worth area has the most expensive gasoline in Texas at $3.34 per gallon. San Antonio has the cheapest gasoline at $3.18 per gallon.

Experts say gasoline price averages in Texas and across the nation continue to be on a steady climb. AAA expects prices to peak over the next month due to seasonal refinery maintenance and the May 1 required switchover for producing summer-blend gasoline.
