Reserve Deputy Charged in Houston Shooting

A reserve deputy constable has been charged in the off-duty shooting of another driver during what Houston police call a road rage incident.

Harris County jail records show 34-year-old Kenneth Caplan was being held Friday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Caplan, whose bond was set at $200,000. He is a reserve deputy constable for Harris County Precinct 6.

Houston police said a woman was wounded Nov. 11. Investigators said the victim was driving when her head was grazed by a bullet. The investigation led to Caplan, who was booked Wednesday.
