Regional Jet Forced to Land at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

A regional jet operated by Mesa Airlines was forced to return to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport shortly after it took off Thursday morning.

Mesa Flight 5801 departed D/FW Airport at 7:33 a.m. 

According to Flightaware.com, the Canadair Regional Jet CRJ-900 was rerouted to return back to the airport.

It was not immediately clear what caused the aircraft to return to the airport. The aircraft landed just before 8 a.m., about 30 minutes after taking off.

Thursday night, United Express Flight 6183, operated by Mesa Airlines, made an emergency landing at D/FW en route from Washington Dulles to San Antonio. No injuries were reported and the incident is under investigation.
