Prominent Dallas Attorney Brian Loncar Found Dead

The Dallas Medical Examiner's Office confirmed to NBCDFW late Sunday the death of well-known Dallas attorney Brian Loncar. The cause of death has not been released.

The Dallas Morning News reported Sunday afternoon that Loncar, a personal injury lawyer known across Texas for his "strong arm" TV commercials, was found dead at his office in downtown Dallas. The cause of death has not yet been released.

Loncar's death comes a week after his 16-year-old daughter, Grace Loncar, committed suicide and two days after her funeral.

In her obituary, Loncar wrote that his daughter had suffered from deep depression since she was 11 years old.

More than 1,000 people attended the funeral, Loncar wrote in an emotional Facebook post following the service.

"I wish you could have seen both the pain and love that the suicide of a 16-year-old girl causes," Loncar wrote.

Attorney Pat Montes attended Texas Tech Law School with Loncar. Montes said his pain was apparent at the funeral.

"He was hurting and I think a lot of us just hurt with him," Montes said.

"I remember the day Grace Loncar was born and Brian was beside himself with joy and excitement," said attorney Krisi Kastl, whose first job following law school was with Loncar's firm.

Kastl said she worked for Loncar for 10 years and now mourns a man she said was dedicated to his family, his business and his employees.

"It’s a great loss. And unbelievable sadness," she said.

Loncar and Associates released the following statement:

“Brian Loncar’s colleagues and employees are shocked and enormously saddened by these tragic events. We are remembering and honoring his passion, commitment to his clients and skillful representation of people who are in pain and need the firm’s assistance. You know his message as being ‘the strong arm’ for people who have been injured. Please know the team Brian built here is resolved to continue service to you that is reflective of Brian’s winning record, strength, expertise, wisdom as well as his deep sense of caring for his clients and people in need of help. We will continue to fight for you.”
