Pope's Visit Inspiring Catholic Charities in North Texas

The Pope’s visit to Catholic Charities of Washington is inspiring those in North Texas.

“Knowing that the Pope knows that we’re doing good work, that’s incredibly exciting”, said Erik Moss, Program Supervisor with Catholic Charities of Dallas.

After addressing members of Congress, Pope Francis met with hundreds of people at the Catholic Charities building in Washington.

Many of the people who were there are low-income, and have received clinical, mental health and medical care through the organization.

“Pope Francis is a man of action and so to see him with the people that Catholic Charities is serving and again giving them that hope and encouragement, it’s a true blessing” said Joe Brodgon, the Interim CEO of Catholic Charities of Dallas.

Catholic Charities of Dallas offers 15 different programs, helping nearly 30,000 people in need each year.

“If the Pope’s visit to America can inspire one person to come tutor a child in an after-school program, teach someone English, we’d consider that a win” says Moss.
