Investigators say a security guard being assaulted at a North Texas transportation station has shot and killed the attacker.
Fort Worth police are trying to determine what prompted the assault on the guard Sunday morning near the Greyhound Bus Lines facility.
The name of the man who was fatally shot wasn't immediately released. He died at a Fort Worth hospital.
Police say the guard suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening in the assault at the Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center. The station serves Amtrak and Trinity Railway Express passengers plus bus lines and taxi operators.
Further details on the guard with Ruiz Protective Services weren't immediately available.
