Police: Houston Man Strangles Person with Necktie

Houston police have arrested a man who they said fatally strangled a disabled man with a necktie.

The Houston Chronicle reported that 46-year-old Roy Peet is charged with the murder of 60-year-old Larry Collier. He is also charged with aggravated assault of an officer and evading arrest.

Collier's caretaker found him dead in his apartment on Sept. 24. The caretaker says Collier's body was in a closet covered by his wheelchair.

Police said Peet was driving Collier's van before he was arrested. They said that he fled from police and endangered an officer.

Peet is being held at the Harris County Jail without bond. Online records did not indicate an attorney.
