Police Hope New Images Will Solve 2016 Homicide In Grand Prairie

Police in Grand Prairie are hoping new images will help solve a murder committed more than a year ago.

On July 24, 2016, police responded to the Las Balones Sports Bar on South Carrier Street for reports that someone had been shot.

Officers found 21-year-old Raul Bustamante suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital, but did not survive.

Bustamante was a member of the local band performing there that night.

Now, more than a year later, police released a sketch of a person of interest and surveillance video, which shows the moments Bustamante was shot.

The grainy video shows a dark colored SUV drive up next to the group of men talking in the parking lot, and then an unidentified person gets out of the passenger side of the SUV and fires multiple rounds at the group, striking Bustamante.

Police are describing the person of interest as a black male in his 20s, approximately five feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall with short hair.

Detectives are hoping these new images will help solve the crime and close this case.
