Police Blotter: Gunfire Breaks Out During Investigation

Gunfire Breaks Out During Robbery Investigation
Two Dallas police officers were shot at multiple times early Tuesday as they investigated a robbery near Five Points in northeast Dallas. It happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 7100 block of Holly Hill Drive, near Ridgecrest Road and Greenville Avenue as officers interviewed robbery suspects. The officers were in full uniform, and a marked Dallas police car was flashing red and blue lights nearby, according to the Dallas Morning News. Several more units responded to the scene, but the shooters fled into the night. It's unclear if the shooting was related to the robbery.

One Dead After FWPD Shooting, Chase
A Fort Worth police officer shot and killed a man after he turned and pointed his gun at him during a chase. Two people -- a male and female -- ran from police. Police officers searched for the woman, who was described as wearing scrubs or fatigues. Read the full report here.
 
Father Accused of Drowning Children
A man accused of drowning his two children on the first day of school faces capital murder charges. The bodies of the boys, ages 3 and 5, were found in Naim Rasool Muhammad's car at East Ledbetter and Singing Hills drives. Read the full report here.

Fatal Fire at Scarborough Fair
One person was killed late Monday evening in a fast-moving fire on the grounds of Waxahachie's Scarborough Renaissance Festival. Officials said the fire broke out just before 10:30 p.m. in the apartment of a groundskeeper. Read the full report here.
