Police: Houston Airport Employee Stole $47K

Houston police have arrested a George Bush Intercontinental Airport employee who they said used her position to steal more than $47,000.

KPRC-TV reported 35-year-old Demetris Domino is charged with aggregate theft by a public servant. She was being held on $94,000 bond at the Harris County Jail on Tuesday morning.

Authorities said Domino worked in the Houston Airport System's business opportunity office and stole money intended for the city between November 2013 and July 2014. They said Domino instructed vendors to make checks payable to her and that she deposited them into her own bank account.

Airport officials told the station in August that Domino was placed on leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.

Online jail records didn't indicate an attorney for Domino.
