A Plano mother and her 2-year-old son were killed in a crash in Missouri on their way back home from Thanksgiving vacation.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Sushma Settipalli and 6 members of her family were in a minivan on Interstate 44 in Franklin County, Missouri at 4 a.m. Sunday when they were hit head on by a car going the wrong way.
Settipalli and her 2-year-old son, Mahidhar, were killed in the crash. The driver of the wrong way vehicle, Robert S. Watson, was also killed.
Settipalli's husband, Ratnakur, and their daughter were seriously injured.
Three other people in the minivan, identified as Chinmayee Gullapalli, 23, of Atlanta, Tagore Gullapalli, 21, of Plano and Vaishnavi Yerneni, 22, of Houston also sustained injuries in the crash.
