One Dead in Fiery Crash After Stealing Bait Car Part: Dallas Police

Dallas police say one person died and four people were arrested in two separate bait car incidents early Saturday morning.

Police say just before 5 a.m. they received a bait car activation in the 7500 block of Stemmons Freeway where someone removed the compressor from the bait car and drove away.

The property was tracked southbound on Interstate 35 where the man threw the compressor from the vehicle at Mockingbird Lane and continued driving on I-30 where he crashed his vehicle.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office says the man was partially ejected and the vehicle caught fire, the man died in the fire.

In another incident, police say just after midnight a bait care in the 7200 block of Nandina Drive was activated. Dallas police say four suspects were taken into custody.
