One person has been shot following an argument at a Mesquite gas station Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. at the Raceway gas station located at 1015 Gross Road in Mesquite.

According to Mesquite police, there was an argument between two people in a gaming room located inside the gas station. As the argument continued, the clerk told the people to leave.

Police said when the two left, one person shot the other once in the stomach and then fled from the scene in a gray car.

The victim has been taken to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas for treatment. Police said the victim underwent surgery and afterward was taken to the ICU.

Lt. David Gill with the Mesquite Police Department said there is surveillance video from the gas station, but that it would not be made public until later in the investigation.
