Officer Shoots Armed Man at Home: Fort Worth Police

Fort Worth police said an officer shot a man late Saturday night after he refused orders to put a gun down.

Investigators said the man was involved in an argument earlier in the evening at the Dublin Square Pub at I-35W and Western Center Boulevard. After an argument inside the restaurant, police said the man went outside and fired his weapon at an unoccupied vehicle.

Police said they managed to identify the man and went to his home on Friendsway Drive. As they approached him at his home, he produced a pistol and refused to put it down.

The man was shot multiple times by a Fort Worth officer and was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, according to police.

An investigation is underway and the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave. He was assigned to a tactical unit and has been on the force for 5 years.
