One Killed, Two Injured in Head-On Denton Crash

One person has been killed and two others were injured after a head-on collision in Denton.

Denton police said around 11 p.m. Sunday, the driver of a pickup truck headed northbound on Sherman Drive near Long Road crossed the centerline into the southbound lanes of Sherman and collided head-on with a Mazda sedan.

The male drivers of both the Mazda sedan and pickup truck were taken by CareFlite to The Medical Center of Plano.

A female passenger riding in the Mazda was killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.

Sherman Drive was closed in the area of the crash while investigators worked at the crash scene. The road reopened after 3 a.m. Monday.

Denton officials are investigating whether alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
